Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using the Lantern analytics dashboard at cliniclantern.com (the "Service"), operated by Clinic Lantern ("Lantern," "we," "us," or "our").

This AUP is part of our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy.

1. Permitted Use

Lantern is designed for use by therapy and healthcare clinic owners, practice managers, and authorized staff to analyze their own clinic operations data. You may use the Service to:

Upload and analyze data exports from Jane App or other practice management software that you are authorized to access.
Generate metrics, reports, and analytics for your own clinic or clinics you manage.
Share analytics outputs within your organization as appropriate.

2. Data Upload Responsibilities

When uploading data to the Service, you are responsible for ensuring that:

You have the legal right and authorization to use all data you upload.
Your use of the data complies with all applicable privacy legislation, including PIPEDA, PHIPA (Ontario), and any other applicable provincial or federal privacy laws.
You have obtained any necessary consents or legal authorizations for using the data in an analytics platform, even one that processes data locally in your browser.
You do not upload data from clinics, organizations, or systems that you do not have authorization to access.

3. Prohibited Activities

You may not use the Service to:

3.1 Unauthorized Access

Access or attempt to access accounts, systems, or data that do not belong to you.
Share your login credentials with unauthorized individuals.
Circumvent any security or access control features of the Service.

3.2 Harmful or Disruptive Activity

Upload files containing malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
Attempt to overload, flood, or crash the Service through excessive automated requests.
Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without authorization.

3.3 Misuse of Data

Use analytics outputs to discriminate against or harm individuals.
Re-identify or attempt to re-identify de-identified client data.
Use the Service to compile personal information about individuals for purposes unrelated to clinic operations.

3.4 Intellectual Property Violations

Copy, reproduce, or create derivative works based on the Service.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service or any part of it.
Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices or branding.
Use the Service to develop a competing product or service.

3.5 Commercial Misuse

Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service without written consent from Lantern.
Use the Service on behalf of third parties (e.g., as a consulting service for other clinics) without a separate agreement.
Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service.

4. Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP and to take action as we deem appropriate, including:

Issuing a warning.
Temporarily suspending your access to the Service.
Permanently terminating your account.
Reporting violations to law enforcement or regulatory authorities.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service or other users.

5. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any misuse of the Service or violation of this AUP, please report it to support@cliniclantern.com.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Changes will be posted on the Service with a revised "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
